Antonbalance1

Anton Mackman (UK): Balancing & Juggling Workshop

Anton has been a professional comedy juggler and all round manipulation performer for over 20yrs. He trained at Fooltime (now Circomedia Circus School) in the UK before going on to perform around the world at many varied events including festivals, carnivals, film and TV.  He’s skills are many and varied including juggling, yoyo, balance, hat manipulation, and ball spinning.  What has this got to do with hoops I hear you say, well since meeting his hula hooping wife Angie Mack 9 years ago he has obviously dabbled a little with the hoops and come to realise the many cross overs that exist between the skills, balance and juggling of hoops being the obvious ones, and this is what he’d like to share with you.

Brecken

Brecken Riviera – Floorwork

Brecken Rivara, age 28 from Oakland California, USA, has been hooping for over eight years and is considered to be one of the leading innovators in the scene. Known for her ragdoll fluidity, seamless transitions, warp-speed spinning and now her more recent developments in floor work, her hooping has evolved at pace alongside the rapidly growing hoop community and continues to expand in subject matter and studentship throughout the world. She is an advocate of the hoop as a “movement teacher” and has based much of her exploration on this relationship, encouraging what she calls the hoop’s most signature attribute: “An increased awareness of one’s inner waves and spirals…to be experienced and animated through exchange.” She plans to continue teaching hoop for as long as she can and feels forever grateful to have found this incredible community to support her in such a goal.
